Tattoo Try-On

A tattoo try-on places a design on a photo of your own skin so you can check size and placement before the appointment. Upload a straight-on photo, add a design on a white background, then drag, resize and rotate it. The white disappears into your skin, and the preview never leaves your device.

Even light, straight on, the whole area in frame. Stays on your device.
A design on white works best — its white disappears into the skin.

How do you use the tattoo try-on?

  1. Add a photo of your skin

Straight on, in even light, with the whole placement in frame.

  2. Add the tattoo design

Upload a design on a white background, or send one here from the AI generator.

  3. Place it and download

Drag, resize, rotate and adjust ink strength, then save the preview.

What to check in the preview

  • Size against the body part. A design that fills a whole forearm looks very different from one that floats in the middle. Try both before deciding.
  • Visibility. Look at it with your sleeve rolled down and up, or with your usual collar — would you want it seen at work?
  • Direction. Should it read the right way up for you or for the people facing you? Wrist and forearm lettering is the classic dilemma.
  • Room to grow. If this may become part of a sleeve or back piece later, leave space around it.

Still choosing the design? Make a few in the AI tattoo generator and try each one here. Choosing the spot? The tattoo pain chart shows how much each placement hurts, and the placement guides cover how each area ages.

Frequently asked questions

How can I see what a tattoo will look like on me?

Take a straight-on photo of the area in even light, upload it here with your design, then drag, resize and rotate the design until it sits where you want it. The preview blends the design into your skin tone so you can judge size and placement.

Is the tattoo simulator free?

Yes, it's free and needs no account. It runs entirely in your browser — your photos are not uploaded to our servers — and you can download the preview to show friends or your artist.

How accurate is a virtual tattoo try-on?

It is good for size, position and overall balance. It can't show how ink sits in your particular skin, how a curved area like a forearm or calf wraps a design, or how lines soften over the years, so use it to decide placement rather than to judge fine detail.

What photo works best?

A sharp photo in daylight or even indoor light, taken straight at the area with the whole placement in frame. Avoid strong shadows and harsh flash. For curved placements, take the photo from the angle people will usually see the tattoo.

Can I try on a design from the AI generator?

Yes. Under each generated design there is a Try on link that opens this page with the design already loaded — you only add the photo of your skin.
